Life in Roman Britain
For nearly 400 years, from AD 43 to 410, most of Britain was occupied by the Romans. As time went on the Britons adopted Roman customs and ways of life, and they began to think of themselves as Romans. Roman occupation has left a lasting impression on agriculture, transportation, religion and other things as well. These 400 years of English history deserve to be studied by anyone interested in the growth of Britain and the goal is to describe the ways in which the Roman occupation affected the life of the native people of Britain who were known as Britons, or sometimes referred to as Celts.
